当社代表の矢上清乃は、日本各地より選ばれた、活躍が期待される女性リーダーたちを、さらに行動力のあるリーダーへと育成するJWLIを運営する米国ボストンのフィッシュ・ファミリー財団の推薦により、2019年春の選考会にて、未来のアジア太平洋地域の社会変革を担うリーダー「Changing Faces Women’s Leadership Seminar」の日本代表に選抜されました。この選抜メンバーたちによる2週間のハワイでの現地研修が2020年6月に開催される予定でしたが、残念なことに新型コロナパンデミックの影響により延期となってしまいました。
そこで「Changing Faces Women’s Leadership Seminar」は形を変えて、2021年のオンライン研修と2022年夏のハワイでの現地研修との二本立てで行われることになり、昨年7月のオンライン研修を経て、ついに今年の夏ハワイでの研修の開催が決定しました。

「2022 Changing Faces Women’s Leadership Seminar」は、7月24日から8月6日の約２週間。さまざまな研修や講義が予定されていますが、その合間にHawaiiの空気感を少しでも皆さんにお届けすることができれば嬉しいです。
また、現地時間の8月4日には「GalswithLEI Forum」に登壇いたします。こちらはオンラインでも視聴することができます（有料）。

Changing Faces Womenとして、当社代表の矢上清乃は、2:30pm（日本時間8月5日（金）9:30am）からの①Now Every Office Can Have One!のワークショップに登壇いたします。
オープンスペースでは、参加者は自由にディスカッショングループを形成し、ワークショップの後に互いに学び合うことができます。夜は地元の女性シェフをフィーチャーしたネットワーキングレセプションで締めくくられます。
【フィッシュ・ファミリー財団について】
フィッシュ・ファミリー財団は、慈善事業を目的に1999年に米国マサチューセッツ州ボストン市で厚子・東光・フィッシュとラリー・フィッシュ、夫妻によって設立されました。ボストン近郊の移民や低所得者層の若者支援、また女性リーダー育成や震災復興支援など日本を対象にした様々な活動を行っています。厚子・東光・フィッシュは、2006年にはJapanese Women’s Leadership Initiative（JWLI）、2017年にはチャンピオン・オブ・チェンジ日本大賞（CCJA）、2019年にはJWLI Bootcamp、2021年にはJWLIスカラシップを立ち上げました。2018年に日本のソーシャルセクターの女性リーダー育成への功績が認められ、旭日小綬章を受賞しました。

【Japanese Women’s Leadership Initiative（JWLI）各プログラムのご紹介】
日本各地より選ばれた、活躍が期待される女性リーダーたちを、さらに行動力のあるリーダーへと育成します。ボストンで行われる4週間のリーダーシップ研修を通じて、フェローたちはリーダーとなる自信、マネージメントに必要なスキルと知識を身につけ、社会変革をもたらす具体的なプランを構築します。ボストンではNPOや社会的起業家、インキュベーターを視察訪問し、組織運営のノウハウやファンドレイジングの手法、リーダーシップなどを学びます。また、バブソン大学にて女性リーダーを養成する社会人向けの研修にも参加します。さらに、バブソン大学教授によるコーチングのもと、自身が目指す社会変革のアクションプランを立案、および発表します。帰国後はメンターの伴走のもと、そのプランを2年で実現していきます。
なお、学び舎mom代表の矢上は、JWLIの１ヶ月ボストン研修へ2012年秋に参加、第6期フェローです。その後も、JWLI Ecosysytemアラムナイコミュニティにおいて、グループリフレクション導入提案等で貢献を続けています。 https://jwli.org/fellows/

社会を先取りし、地域の声を代表する政策提言者としてより良い未来社会を創造するリーダーを育成するプログラムです。2006年から続くJWLIの4週間にわたるボストンでのプログラムを、3日間の合宿型研修に凝縮し、JWLIのエッセンスを日本語で提供します。2019年は、愛知県名古屋市と宮城県石巻市2カ所で行われ、18名の地方で活躍するリーダーたちが参加しました。2022年のプログラムについては、ウェブサイト（http://jwlibootcamp.org/bootcamp2022/）をご覧ください。
国際社会の担い手であり才能あふれた若い移民・難民の背景を持つ方のための奨学金プログラム。彼女たち・彼らは多文化、多言語という背景から、今後の日本社会において重要な役割を担うと確信し、2021年に創設されました。JWLIスカラシップでは大学・専門学校入学予定者に、最大4年間の入学金・学費・生活費を含む返済義務なしの給付型の奨学金を配布します。2021年度は4名の奨学生を採用しました 。

Our representative, Kiyono YAGAMI was selected as the representative of Japan for the “Changing Faces Women’s Leadership Seminar,” which trains women leaders who lead the social transformation of the Asia-Pacific region in the future. Kiyono was also recommended by the Fish Family Foundation in Boston, USA, which manages JWLI to develop female leaders who are expected to be active from all over Japan into more active leaders, to this”Changing Faces Women’s Leadership Seminar”.
A two-week field training in Hawaii by these selected members was scheduled to be held in June 2020, but unfortunately it was postponed due to the influence of the new corona pandemic. Therefore, the “Changing Faces Women’s Leadership Seminar” will be transformed into an online training in 2021 and a local training in Hawaii in the summer of 2022. After the online training in July last year, it is finally this year. It was decided to hold a training session in Hawaii this summer.

The East-West Center is excited to present the 6th #galswithLEI Forum on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 12:30-7:30pm. #galswithLEI is not your typical event; rather it is provocative, purposeful, and collaborative. #galswithLEI offers a keynote panel and six interactive workshops focused on Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Inspiration followed by an attendee driven open space forum and a networking reception featuring local women chefs. Panelists and attendees include invited experts, local established women leaders, bold millennials, and the Changing Faces Women – connecting and integrating the experience, ambition, and passion of all those in attendance. Join us as we try to make sense of the times, the struggles, and the language to be reclaimed.
#galswithLEI Keynote: Uppity Women
Cascading global crises and opportunistic political leaders at home and abroad are challenging societal progress on gender roles and definitions of masculinity and femininity, eroding hard-fought gains in women’s workforce participation, reproductive funding and choice, and renormalizing misogynistic and discriminatory language at the highest levels. This seeming backward slide has left women across the globe struggling to understand the times, the struggle, and the language to be reclaimed. Join uppity women leading change in discussing whether women are gaining ground in representation, rights, equality, and voice or whether we are seeing a retrenchment of patriarchy, and what can be done individually and collectively to challenge systemic gender discrimination and empower and advance women globally.
#galswithLEI offers six interactive workshops including: Now Every Office Can Have One!; It’s Not Easy Being Green; Hysterical Women; Wallpapering Woke; A Woman’s Place is in the Kitchen; and Braless, Brainless Broads. Open Space allows attendees to freely form discussion groups and learn from one another following the workshops. The evening concludes with a networking reception featuring local women chefs.

[About the Fish Family Foundation]
The Fish Family Foundation was founded in 1999 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA by Atsuko Toko Fish and Larry Fish for philanthropic purposes. We are engaged in various activities targeting Japan, such as supporting immigrants and low-income young people in the suburbs of Boston, training female leaders, and supporting disaster recovery. Atsuko, Toko, Fish launched the Japanese Women’s Leadership Initiative (JWLI) in 2006, the Champion of Change Japan Awards (CCJA) in 2017, the JWLI Bootcamp in 2019, and the JWLI Scholarship in 2021. In 2018, she was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays for her achievements in developing female leaders in the Japanese social sector.

Kiyono YAGAMI, CEO of Manabiya Mom Inc., participated in JWLI’s one-month Boston training in the fall of 2012 and is the 6th fellow. Since then, Kiyono has continued to contribute to the JWLI Ecosystem alumni community by proposing the introduction of group reflection etc.
